Central Park Greyhound Stadium can confirm details of its racing schedule for 2024, with Saturday night racing headlining four weekly fixtures starting in the new year.
The Sittingbourne venue will open its doors on Saturday and Tuesday evenings plus Monday afternoons and Friday mornings with all fixtures forming part of the Premier Greyhound Racing schedule launching on January 1, 2024.
Headlining Central Park’s calendar will be four Category One competitions – the highest grade of UK greyhound racing – with the Arena Racing Company Cesarewitch in January, Arena Racing Company Kent Plate in March and the Kent Silver Salvar in June.
The venue’s Category One programme for 2024 concludes in October with the 25th running of the Premier Greyhound Racing Kent Derby.
General Manager Hayley Huntley said the schedule will deliver a strong mix of graded, open and competition races for racegoers to enjoy.
“Following a hugely successful 2023 topped by the completion of our major investment into the track surface, we’re really excited to confirm our schedule from the new year,” said Hayley.
“Back by popular demand are our Saturday evening fixtures which in January will host the highly anticipated Arena Racing Company Cesarewitch. Operating on a primetime weekend slot is not only great news for local racegoers, but also our much-valued owners and trainers alike.
“For families and groups of friends or colleagues yet to experience live greyhound racing, we’d highly recommend a visit trackside in the new year. The action is fast and there are plenty of opportunities to meet the stars of the track, learn more about the life of a racing greyhound and see how they make great pets in retirement.”
Admission on Saturday and Tuesday evenings is priced £7 for adults with U18s costing only £1. Trackside packages and restaurant bookings will be available to book via the stadium's online ticketing page shortly.
